Planning for Pentagon Memorial Moves Forward
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced an open competition to select a design for an outdoor memorial on the grounds of the Pentagon, Arlington, Va., to honor the victims of the September 11 attack at that building. The AIA’s Financial Stability Continues into 2002
Our new financial year is off to a healthy start with encouraging news. Our solid performance last year has been confirmed by the 2001 financial audit. We have received confirmation of the dissolution of AEC, and, finally, our continuing commitment to operating in a disciplined and businesslike manner is demonstrated by the fact that we are ahead of budgeted targets for the first quarter of 2002. 2003 AIA National Convention Speaker Proposals Due June 17
Join us in sunny San Diego, May 8–10, 2003
Do you have special knowledge that you would like to share with your colleagues? The AIA invites you to submit a presentation proposal for the 2003 AIA national convention in San Diego. The convention theme is "Design Matters," and potential speakers are invited to submit proposal for three types of presentation formats: 90-minute seminars, 3.75-hour (half-day) workshops and 7.5-hour (full-day) workshops. Speakers receive complimentary convention registration, per diem reimbursement, and a modest travel allowance to help defray airfare costs. Proposals are due June 17, via email.
