AIA/ICC Green Codes Summit Seeks Ways to Facilitate Regulations
The AIA and the International Code Council (ICC) held a Green Codes Summit at AIA national headquarters on July 12, during which AIA and ICC leadership, other industry stakeholders, and leading municipal and state officials offered examples of how their jurisdictions are integrating sustainability practices into planning and code models. Some 40 participants spent the day examining best practices, discussing the current state of building codes, and considering the best course of action to integrate green building regulations and incentives into diverse regulatory frameworks. They addressed specifically administration and scope, standard definitions of green terms, options for enforcement, standards, and measurement. For more information, visit the AIA Angle.
