  Large Panoramic Photography Helps Architects Get a Better Picture
Large, panoramic, digital photography is becoming more popular among architects looking to present higher-resolution, continuous images of site locations and interior spaces to clients. New York-based photographer Tom Watson, who specializes in digital, panoramic images of up to 360 degrees for architects, believes that the inherent quality of large panoramic images—not matched by regular digital imaging and competing software technology—can give architects an advantage in their practices.


Boston’s CBT Receives Green Business Award

During its 40-year history, CBT/Childs Bertman Tseckares Inc., has placed sustainability at the core of its mission, and at the center of its design and business philosophy. Last month, Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino recognized the firm for its efforts, naming it just one of 12 recipients of the city’s first annual Green Business Awards. The firm received the honor in the Green Business Practices category.

Experimental Prefabricated Home Built from Sustainable Lumber
Walnut Creek, Calif., green residence built in six days using European prefab system
San Francisco-based Pure Wood Solutions has brought from overseas a new pre-fabricated, sustainable construction process that recently yielded a 2,500-square-foot, two-story residence in Walnut Creek, Calif. Construction components for walls, ceilings, and roofs were factory-produced in Europe, with 100 percent of the wood from sustainable forests. The entire Walnut Creek house was built in six days.
