The AIA, working with the United States Conference of Mayors to promote integrated and high-performance building design, launched a toolkit that offers an overview of green building issues, sample ordinance language, and real-world examples of what communities are already doing to pursue green building programs.
Gehry Talks About Architecture and the Mind at Neuroscience Conference
AIA Gold Medal recipient Frank Gehry, FAIA, launched the 2006 Society for Neuroscience annual meeting on October 14 as this year’s “Dialogues Between Neuroscience and Society” series speaker at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Gehry presented a slide lecture of his work, then launched into a one-on-one conversation with leading neuroscientist Dr. Fred H. Gage and a Q&A session with the audience.
Graves to Receive 2006 Victory Award
AIA Gold Medal recipient Michael Graves, FAIA, received a 2006 Victory Award from the National Rehabilitation Hospital in celebration of “the victory of the human spirit, honoring those individuals who best exemplify strength and courage in the face of physical adversity.”
