AIA Announces Recipients of the Continuing Education Award for Excellence
Program recognizes commitment to professional continuing education

Summary: The AIA Continuing Education System (CES) announced the four winners of its 2009 Award for Excellence. The Award for Excellence, which was established 11 years ago, recognizes superior educational providers for offering an overall program with an exceptional commitment to developing and maintaining high quality education for architects.

AIA/CES would like to congratulate the four 2009 Award for Excellence winners:

Winner of the Architectural Firm Provider Category
Marshall Craft Associates, Inc

Winner of the Commercial Organization Provider Category
Whirlpool Corporation

Winner of the Educational Organization Provider Category
Kaplan

Winner of the Internet Platform Provider Category
AEC Daily

Winners were judged and chosen by a jury of experts in the field of education and architecture. Each winner of the award demonstrated excellence in all phases of their continuing education programs, which were judged on:

  • Commitment and support
  • Planning and analysis
  • Design and implementation
  • Resources and records, and evaluation and improvement.

In addition to winning the award, winners earned a five-star rating under the AIA/CES Provider Red Star Rating system. Providers with five-star ratings are considered to be model programs that consistently demonstrate quality standards in all areas of program content, delivery, administration, evaluations, improvement, truth in marketing, and costs.

Visit the Award for Excellence Web site for more information on the award and to listen to podcasts from previous award recipients discussing their programs. (2009 award recipient podcasts will be posted to the Web site shortly.)
