Liability Insurance Market Remains Healthy
Summary of the annual AIA Professional Liability Insurance Survey
Professional liability insurance is the necessary evil that all successful design firms must consider to minimize risk exposure effectively, writes Nolanda H. Bearden, AIA, managing member, NHB Group LLC. Each fall, the AIA Risk Management Committee, along with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and the AIA Trust, conducts an annual survey followed by interviews of insurance carriers specializing in providing professional liability insurance coverage to design professionals.

Resolutions for Consideration at AIA National Convention Due February 27
Submission of resolutions to be considered by the delegates at the AIA 2009 National Convention and Design Exposition in San Francisco will be accepted by the Resolutions Committee until 5:00 p.m. ET, February 27, 2009. Resolutions must be sent electronically, with hard copy to follow, to the attention of the AIA secretary at AIA headquarters (1735 New York Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20006-5292) by that date and time.
