Letters to the Editor

Summary: This week, we have two short notes: One architect takes umbrage with our language in talking about the economy, and a former AIA president really liked Lauren Bostic’s article about how Generation Y defines diversity.

Re: Generation Y Redefines Diversity

Great article. We need to understand more about the bridge between generations. Thanks for writing it and for publishing it.

Re: Kiplinger Connection

Let’s try to present a fair and balanced view of the economy and its problems. When referring to “greedy bankers,” mention should also be made of “greedy homeowners,” most of whom had no business, credit history, or discipline to qualify for these mortgages, and knew it. Also, let’s call economic stimulus fueled by “government juice” by its proper name: “taxpayer-funded subsidies for companies and individuals who made poor decisions and exercised bad judgment.”

Ed. note: As a service to our members, AIArchitect offers three articles per week from the Kiplinger Newsletter. We do not edit these articles; the points of view and the language are Kiplinger’s.
