  Loeffelman Elected 2009 Vice President

Pamela J. Loeffelman, FAIA, LEED-AP, was elected to a two-year vice presidential term beginning in December 2008. Loeffelman is a principal at Perkins Eastman in Stamford, Conn. She has more than 30 years professional practice nationally and internationally on projects diverse in geography, project type, and project delivery. Her professional experience includes Kolb and Stansfield in Seattle and Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates in New York City.

On the national AIA level, Loeffelman served on the Committee on Architecture for Education’s national AIA Advisory Group (2001–2005) and the Board Knowledge Committee (2004–2008). On the local/state level, Loeffelman currently is a member of AIA Connecticut’s coalition for state reform to create a qualifications-based selection process. She has also served as chair of AIA New York Chapter’s Committee on Architecture for Education (1998–2001), the board of AIA New York (1999–2001), and the Mayoral Commission on the implementation of the International Building Code (2001–2007). Her leadership at allied organizations includes as North Atlantic council member, Society of College and University Planners; the American Architectural Foundation planning committee for the National Summit on School Design and the first Mayor’s Institute on School Design; and working with the leaders of Public Education Buildings. Loeffelman earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a BArch from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
