 SECRETARY
Enrique A. Woodroffe, FAIA
As a current regional director representing the Florida/Caribbean region and member of the AIA Secretary’s Advisory Committee (SAC), it has been exciting to be part of AIA 150 and our Blueprint for America.
The AIA Secretary is an integral part of the national leadership and a representative that must serve AIA members and components for the AIA to continually excel by:
- Maintaining dialogue of the Board, Executive Team, and SAC in such areas as sustainable changes, community service, ethics, and integrity throughout the organization
- Meeting needs of our members, components, and the Institute by efficient and relevant governance, structure, and clear decision-making in addressing issues such as bylaws interpretation, membership and dues, component bylaws, fellowship, and ethics
- Continually adapting the role of the AIA Secretary to reach our goal of “One AIA” by promoting transparent discussions by the Board, executive team, committees, and component groups. These must be clearly recorded and communicated throughout the organization
- Promoting collaborative leadership among our components and members by performing duties of the Secretary in a consistent and responsive manner.
We must demonstrate our leadership and commitment to our profession and the AIA’s mission by embracing sustainable changes that promote the well-being and future of our profession and communities.
My commitment to AIA started at the University of Florida as an AIAS member. I have served my local component AIA Tampa Bay, AIA Florida and AIA National for over 25 years. I was elevated to the College of Fellows in 2000.

- Ybor Chamber of Commerce, since 1982, served as Secretary and President
- Volunteer one week per year on a trip to the Dominican Republic to build schools for the needy.
