2007 Herman Miller Intern Scholarship Program Seeks Applicants
Applications due August 6
Herman Miller for Healthcare will sponsor eight young professionals to attend the HealthcareDesign.07 conference November 3–6 in Dallas. This year, the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health joins the Center for Health Design and Vendome Group in sponsoring this annual conference on evidence-based design for health care. Each intern selected will receive up to a $1,000 reimbursement to cover registration fees, air travel, and hotel room costs. (Note: This amount typically does not cover all the expenses one incurs to attend a conference.)
This scholarship program is part of Herman Miller's continuing commitment to excellence in health-care architecture and support of young architects.
Applications must be received by August 6. For eligibility and application information, visit the AAH Web site.

CAE Fall Conference: Redefining Sustainability: New Directions for Designing Our Future

Join the Committee of Architect in Education for their fall meeting September 16-18, in Seattle, as the group explores modernization of schools built in the ’50s and ’60s as well as new school construction—all in the light of sustainable design. Experts will present current practices and projects demonstrating leading-edge design of sustainable learning environments. Seattle is the only area in the United States where five projects have received an AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top Ten Green Projects Award, and the group will tour four of these as well as three other LEED-certified projects. Visit the CAE Web site for more information or to sign up.
