IFRAA Fall Conference
Spiritual Space and Spirit of Place: Pietro Belluschi and the Northwest
Join the AIA Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture (IFRAA) Knowledge Community for their fall conference August 15–17, in Portland, Ore., where they will explore the works and influence of Pietro Belluschi, who started designing spiritual spaces in Portland in the 1930s and reactivated that interest in the late 1970s. This conference will focus on the creation of contemporary religious places that respond to cultural, contextual, traditional, and spiritual forces. The group will visit Belluschi-designed churches and a prize-winning contemporary example that exhibits both regional and Belluschi influences.
