The Fairmont Mayakoba is a luxury resort on the Mayan Riviera that maintains and uses the area’s natural ecology to give guests a vacation experience steeped in native flora and fauna. Developed after an extensive and multidimensional study of the natural landscape, the resort lessens its environmental impact by being constructed from native and recycled materials.

San Francisco Architectural Foundation Makes Big Waves from Small Steps
The Architectural Foundation of San Francisco partnered with the San Francisco Unified School District in 2004 to create the Build San Francisco Institute, a design-based experiential learning program for high school juniors and seniors. A half-day program that offers accredited high school courses, the Build San Francisco Institute integrates academic subject matter with the study of a local major urban construction project currently under development.

Dutch Firm Selected to Create Iconic Cleveland Institute of Arts Building
Firm thinks the way CIA teaches

The Cleveland Institute of Art has selected Dutch architecture firm MVRDV to design its new building with the hope of creating an attention-getting icon for both the city and its independent college of art and design. The new building will house classrooms, studios, and public space and will be located immediately west of the college’s existing Joseph McCullough Center for the Visual Arts, a key step toward unifying the Institute’s campus.
