  Young Architects: Design a Resort Home in the Bahamas
Cotton Bay Estates & Villas, operated by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., and the first The Luxury Collection branded property in the Bahamas, will host a young architects’ design competition for luxury resort homes, to be judged by Richard Meier, FAIA; Laurinda Spear, FAIA; Costas Kondylis; and model India Hicks. Architects under the age of 40 may submit designs for a 3,000- to 5,000-square-foot, one-story or split-level private resort home on an estate lot at Cotton Bay, in Eleuthera, Bahamas. Submissions for TAP Third Annual BIM Awards Competition Due February 15
The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community will host its third annual Building Information Model (BIM) Awards competition to acknowledge projects that have used integrated and interoperable building information models. Submissions, due February 15 at 5:00 p.m. ET, should be sent via e-mail to Katherine Gupman. Awards will be given for best examples of the use of building information models in six categories, and the chosen projects will be honored at the AIA 2007 National Convention in San Antonio this May.
