Housing PIA Honors Seven Multifamily, Community-Design Projects

The AIA Housing PIA established the Housing PIA Awards program this year to recognize the importance of good housing as a:
• necessity of life
• sanctuary for the human spirit
• valuable resource.

Working in coordination with Architectural Record magazine, the new program recognizes the best in housing design. Categories for the program included single-family housing, multifamily housing, community design, and innovation in housing design. The jury—Chair William H. Kreager, AIA, Mithun Partners, Seattle; Robert Ivy, FAIA, editor-in-chief, Architectural Record; Anne Lewis, FAIA, Washington, D.C.; and Rob Robinson, AIA, Urban Design Associates, Pittsburgh—chose to recognize winners only in the categories of multifamily housing and community design this year.
