AIA President Jeff Potter, FAIA, and Major General Merdith W.B. Temple, Acting Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), renew a long-standing cooperative agreement between the two organizations during a pre-convention ceremony held at AIA National. The wide-ranging agreement, first signed in 1994, calls for the AIA and USACE to promote their respective mutual interests in providing safe, effective, and efficient architectural services.

The AIA National Board of Directors and senior AIA staff met with White House officials and senior administration representatives during a pre-convention briefing on the role of the AIA and the federal government in sustainable communities, energy efficiency, and zero-carbon buildings. The briefing was held in the historic Indian Treaty Room at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
