Customize Your AIA Convention CE Experience On-line

Summary: For the first time the AIA Convention Web site allows you to browse the hundreds of continuing education programs, tours, and events and select those that fit your particular learning objectives. The program even alerts you to any schedule overlaps as you build your personalized program. As always, you can register for the convention and arrange your hotel accommodations directly on-line.

This year’s convention, April 30 to May 2 in San Francisco, themed The Power of Diversity: Practice in a Complex World, is focused on understanding the complexities of practice amidst the current market challenges. Among more than 500 program offerings are more than a dozen courses added specifically to help architects navigate the economy. With that understanding, you will be prepared to map a continuing education curriculum to position yourself for emerging market opportunities while you network with thousands of colleagues and learn the value of strength in numbers.

With half-day and full-day pre-convention workshops April 29 and a wide variety of continuing education opportunities spread throughout the convention’s three days—including 1, 1.5, and 2 learning-unit programs and CE sessions on the exposition floor during expo hours—attendees will be able to fulfill an entire year’s worth of CE requirements during the convention, including health, safety, and welfare and sustainable design requirements.

Register and order before March 16, and you can also secure conference recordings on CD-ROM, a first-time convention opportunity, at more than $100 off the post-convention price. With these recordings, complete with PowerPoint presentations and handouts, not only will you not miss out on any of the convention offerings, you can also share them with colleagues back at the office.
