You can now register online for the AIA 2009 National Convention and Design Expo to take place April 30-May 2 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The Web site has some cool new features this year, including an interactive convention guide and enhanced seminar schedule that allows AIA members to design their convention curriculum using new keyword and drilldown search options. Themed “Diversity: Practice in a Complex World,” the convention offers more than 360 continuing-education opportunities including some 70 fabulous tours. Applications for NAAB Visiting Teams Due February 24
Each year, the AIA nominates 10 practitioners to serve as AIA representatives on the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) visiting teams. Visiting teams—composed of representatives from the AIA, the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA), and the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB)—serve an important role in the review of U.S. architecture programs. Resolutions for Consideration at AIA National Convention Due February 27
Submission of resolutions to be considered by the delegates at the AIA 2009 National Convention and Design Exposition in San Francisco will be accepted by the Resolutions Committee until 5:00 p.m. ET, February 27, 2009. Resolutions must be sent electronically, with hard copy to follow, to the attention of the AIA secretary at AIA headquarters (1735 New York Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20006-5292) by that date and time.
