  Sustainability Tops Federal Issues Agenda for 2007
Energy efficiency in federal buildings, sustainable design and water quality, and tax deductions for energy-efficient commercial buildings top the AIA’s 2007 federal agenda and will be the primary “asks” AIA members will take to Capitol Hill during the Grassroots Legislative and Leadership conference in February. The congressional issue briefs for the 2007 Grassroots Conference are available on the Grassroots Web site.

2007 Top Ten Green Awards Program Extends Deadline
Registration and submissions now due January 31
Registration is now open for submissions for the AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) 2007 Top Ten Green Projects awards. The program recognizes the benefits of sustainable design and acknowledges architects as leaders in the creation of environmentally responsible design solutions. COTE encourages architects and their teams to submit their projects for the Top Ten design competition.

Six Architects Declare Candidacy for Three Offices
Elections for the Institute’s next first vice president/president-elect, vice presidents, and treasurer will be held in May at the 2007 AIA National Convention and Design Expo in San Antonio.
