The AIA is hosting its first ever design competition on
Facebookthe AIA Facebook Young Designers Challenge. The
competition is targeting emerging professionals, and is open to all
AIAS members, associate AIA members, and AIA young architect
members.
ARRIS: Journal of the Southeast
Chapter of the Society for Architectural Historians
Call for Papers
ARRIS is now soliciting papers for volume 21, to be published in
October 2010. The journal welcomes original scholarship on all
aspects of the history of architecture and landscape. The deadline
for submissions is January 30, 2010. They will be blind-reviewed
and the authors notified in April 2010. Papers should conform to
the submission guidelines. For more information, contact the

Mark of Dreams: UNESCO's DREAM
Center logo competition This competition calls for a
logo that represents the DREAM Center program of the UNESCO/Tribute
21 Fund. The logo is intended to be used on the program's
stationery, brochures, and collateral materials including possibly
in video clips, on signage and on the web. Application Closes:
November 17, 2009 at 05:59PM UTC.
Editor Positions Available for 2010
The AIAs bi-monthly e-magazine AssociateNews and bi-annual
architectural design journal Forward are looking for assistant
editors, assistant directors and web editors in 2010 to work
directly with the Editor-in Chief of AssociateNews or the Director
of Forward!
While the positions are voluntary, the time contributed may be
applicable to the IDP Professional Service requirement (training
area 16). Work produced may also be used as the basis for an
applicants submission in 2010 should they decide to apply for
2011 AssociateNews Editor-in-Chief or 2011 Forward Director
positions (both the Editor-in-Chief and Forward Director are funded
positions).
The new position of Web Editor/Developer has been created to
further develop the mission and reach of the publications. The new
Web Editor has the opportunity to work on and guide the development
of a new web site dedicated to the associate membership.
Time commitment per month varies with each position. See the AIA's
