Save the Date! 2015-2016 COTE Top Ten for Students Design Competition
Submission site opens on December 9, 2015 | Submission deadline is January 20, 2016
In partnership with the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA), COTE is pleased to announce the second annual AIA COTE Top Ten for Students. The program challenges students, working individually or in teams, to submit projects that use a thoroughly integrated approach to architecture, natural systems, and technology to provide architectural solutions that protect and enhance the environment. The competition will recognize ten exceptional studio projects that seamlessly integrate innovative, regenerative strategies within their broader design concepts.

The AIA 2030 Commitment has reached a new milestone with the launch of the Design Data Exchange, DDx. This platform is data rich and practice focused. Small firms can use the research functionality to see larger quantities of information, which can be very useful for setting reasonable targets.

New AIA Member-Only Research Databases Now Available through BRIK
Professionally-reviewed research is available through the Building Research Information Knowledgebase (BRIK). The BRIK collection is free and can be navigated by search terms such as sustainability. This portal now includes a subscription feature to three EBSCO databases: the Sustainability Reference Center, Art & Architecture Complete, and the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals. The EBSCO-powered portion of BRIK is offered to AIA members and to NIBS members. A free test drive of these databases is underway through September, after which members can subscribe for a nominal annual fee.
