Entries Due February 4 for 2003 NCARB Prize
The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) is calling for entries for its second annual NCARB Prize for Creative Integration of Practice and Education in the Academy. The prize honors innovative ways of integrating practitioners into the academy to expose students to the reality and culture of day-to-day practice. Full Story

Virginia Architects Receive Awards for Design Excellence
The Virginia Society of the American Institute of Architects honored 12 projects by architects in the region with Awards for Excellence in Architecture at its annual ceremony November 8 in Richmond. Nine of the projects are located in the Commonwealth of Virginia; two are in Washington, D.C.; and one is overseas. Selected from a field of 123 submissions representing five AIA chapters, the winners varied widely from a small skate park in Northern Virginia to a science museum in Northern Ireland. Full Story

Substantive Newsletters Build Name Recognition
For years, BCA, of Elgin, Ill., published a quarterly newsletter that did little more than tout their latest projects. Then, two years ago, they began sending monthly a newsletter with feature articles illustrating their specialized knowledge. In coordination with their other marketing efforts, the new strategy has been very effective. Full Story
