AIACC Awards Program Turns 20
The AIA California Council feted the winners of its 2002 design awards program, including its Savings by Design Energy Efficiency Integration Awards, at the newly renovated Ferry Building in San Francisco on September 20. Foundation Receives NEA Grant to Restore WTC Model
The National Endowment for the Arts announced September 25 that it is awarding Save America's Treasures grants to 80 projects in 36 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, including one to the Octagon Museum/American Architectural Foundation Collection for restoration of a seven-foot-tall model of the World Trade Center. Wahoo! UVa Wins "Design and Livability" Solar Decathlon Contest
Sometimes it pays to have a Cavalier attitude. During the Solar Decathlon on the Capital Mall, the architecture and engineering team from the University of Virginia captured the imaginations of an all-star architecture jury September 29, winning first place in the Design and Livability contest, one of the 10 categories that make up the decathlon.
