Beginning in 2002, the AIA is offering members free access to all the professional interest areas (PIAs), removing the $50 fee of the past. All you need to do is identify your primary choice of a PIA on your 2002 membership renewal form and add additional PIAs if you wish to receive information in those particular areas. Full Story

AIA Testifies for Safe and Affordable Housing
Guided by input from members of the Housing Professional Interest Area, the AIA submitted testimony to the congressionally mandated Millennial Housing Commission, which is preparing recommendations on federal housing policy. Full Story

Architecture Loses Two Beloved Figures
George Hasslein, FAIA, died in San Luis Obispo, Calif., after suffering a heart attack. He was 83. Steven Izenour, another beloved mentor and practitioner, died of a heart attack August 21 while on vacation with his family in Vermont. He was 61. Full Story
