  Get to Know the Details of the Stimulus Package
President Obama signed into law a massive economic recovery package designed to stimulate the economy and help the nation cope with the ongoing recession. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 includes hundreds of billions of dollars in aid to states to help create new jobs, billions to help individuals and businesses, and proposes nearly $300 billion in tax cuts.

AIA North Carolina Sees Their Part in the Stimulus Package
AIA North Carolina has proved that effective advocacy can flow from the state component level as well as the national and federal level. On Monday, Feb. 16, AIA North Carolina Executive Vice President David A. Crawford, Hon. AIA, and Ann Collier, AIA, AIA North Carolina president, met with U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge at Bugg Creative Arts and Science Magnet Elementary School, currently undergoing renovation in Raleigh, as he celebrated the passage of the federal economic stimulus package.

112 Elevated to Fellowship, 9 to Hon. FAIA
The 2009 AIA Jury of Fellows elevated 112 AIA members to its prestigious College of Fellows, an honor awarded to members who have made significant contributions to the profession. The Jury of Honorary Fellows further recognized 9 non-U.S. architects for their distinguished careers.
