Smithsonian Solicits Qualifications for National African American Museum
The Smithsonian Institution on July 9 issued a synopsis and request for qualifications for architect-engineer services for the design of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which will be located on a five-acre parcel between the National Museum of American History and the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. Operating under the provisions of the Brooks Act, the selection process will include this 10-week RFQ with invitations for proposals proffered following the selection of a short list. The museum will comprise about 350,000 square feet of exhibit, research, and office space. Qualifications will be determined from SF330 Parts I and II submissions.
