  AIA IFRAA to Hold Study Tour in Rome
Mark your calendar for “Masters of Light” tour, October 10–18
Join the AIA IFRAA Interfaith Forum of Religion, Art, and Architecture for a study tour of one of the world’s most significant religious capitals. Attendees will experience firsthand the masterworks of Bernini and Borromini, as well as those of such contemporary masters as Renzo Piano and Richard Meier. Guided by Dr. Donald J. Bruggink, Hon. FAIA, Hon. IFRAA, this conference presents a unique opportunity to explore Rome with other architects, clergy, artists, and designers. Among the many sites, tours will include: St. Peter’s, San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane, the Pantheon, Church of Sant Ivo, Parco Della Musica, S. Maria della Victoriam, and Dio Padre Misericordioso. CAE: It’s a Flat World After All

Fall conference in Helsinki takes place September 10–13
Globalization now affects every industry, as journalist Thomas L. Friedman illustrated in his best-selling The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the 21st Century. The AIA Committee on Architecture in Education invites you to attend the “Schools in a Flat World: Global Perspectives on Pedagogy and the Built Environment” conference in Helsinki, Finland, September 10–13. This international gathering of architects and other school building professionals will explore cutting-edge, globalized approaches to school design and project delivery through best practices and case studies from around the globe.
