  Renzo Piano, Hon. FAIA, Selected for 2008 AIA Gold Medal
The AIA Board of Directors Selected Renzo Piano, Hon. FAIA, to receive the 2008 AIA Gold Medal. The Board praised Piano for his sculptural, technically accomplished, and sustainable forms, which have delighted the public and critics for more than 30 years.

2008 Architecture Firm Award Goes to KieranTimberlake
The AIA Board of Directors voted to on December 13 to award the 2008 AIA Architecture Firm Award to KieranTimberlake Associates LLP. The Board praised the firm for its commitment to developing a research-based practice that uses its intelligence to support and promote sustainable architecture.

Stanley Tigerman Awarded 2008 AIA/ACSA Topaz Medallion
The AIA and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) jointly announced that Stanley Tigerman, FAIA, has been named the 2008 recipient of the AIA/ACSA Topaz Medallion for Excellence in Architectural Education by the AIA Board of Directors and the ACSA. The AIA/ACSA Topaz Medallion honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to architecture education for at least 10 years, whose teaching has influenced a broad range of students, and who has helped shape the minds of those who will shape our environment. The award will be presented at the ACSA annual meeting in March 2008 in Houston and in May at the 2008 AIA National Convention in Boston.
