AIA Offers 2007 Documents Webinar
Summary: AIA Contract Documents invites you to join your colleagues for a Web seminar, AIA 2007 Documents: Owner/Architect Agreements, on June 19 from 3:00–4:30 p.m. ET. This program will give experienced practitioners an insight into the AIA’s revision process as well as a chance to preview the 2007 Owner-Architect agreements. The program will prepare participants to select the appropriate AIA agreement for each particular project, and evaluate the suitability of alternative contract terms and language.
In response to user feedback, the AIA has revamped its Owner-Architect agreements and, in late 2007, will release new agreements targeted to the project’s size and complexity, from the small project to the extra-large. If you use B141 or B151, participate in this program to hear about B101-2007™, which combines the best features of both.
Learning objectives for the Web seminar are to:
- Discover the impact that changes to the 2007 AIA owner/architect agreements will have on your practice and about the rationale driving the changes
- Explore the use of alternative contract terms and language to confidently select appropriate AIA documents based on project size and complexity
- Examine the changes to AIA owner/architect agreements with respect to the overall format, including the concept of basic and additional services.
Presenters James C. Jankowski, FAIA, and Cara Hall, AIA, both members of the AIA’s Documents Committee, have been active contributors to the revisions of the B101-2007 documents. Tuition for the Web seminar is $135 per site; one registration fee allows for group participation for colleagues in your office. The program provides 1.5 HSW LUs for AIA members.
Participation in this seminar requires a telephone and a computer with Internet access. Groups will need a projector and screen. For more information or to register, visit the virtual seminar Web site. Questions? Contact Vanessa Williamson. |
