Letters to the Editor

Summary: This time, we have two nice letters about two nice Doer’s Profile stories.

Re: Doer’s Profile: Barbara Laurie, AIA

Thank you for thinking about us, the African-American women architects; the 0.2 percent trying to make our mark in this field. It is really refreshing to know that you care. I am now finally excited about being a part of this organization. I was excited before as a woman and as an African-American. I am not sure I could explain why in this e-mail; however, it is extremely encouraging to know that I too can make my mark in this field and not just in February, Black History month. I finally see someone just like me. I hope it will encourage and inspire many other young African-American ladies to join the field. I have wanted to be an architect since I was 8 years old. I am so happy that I can say, through all of the recent magazine articles, I see someone just like me. Have a great day.

Re: Doer’s Profile: Daniel Ferrara

This is an excellent commentary by an interesting individual who does interesting work. Thank you. Does he have a Web site where I could find out more about his various projects?
