Submissions for TAP Third Annual BIM Awards Competition Due February 15
The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community will host its third annual Building Information Model (BIM) Awards competition to acknowledge projects that have used integrated and interoperable building information models. Submissions, due February 15 at 5:00 p.m. ET, should be sent via e-mail to Katherine Gupman. Awards will be given for best examples of the use of building information models in six categories, and the chosen projects will be honored at the AIA 2007 National Convention in San Antonio this May. Gensler Distinguished Firm Lecture Slated for February 9
Gensler, the 42-year-old award-winning San Francisco-based architecture, planning, and design firm, will be the featured distinguished firm at the 28th Annual Rowlett Lecture February 3 on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station. The firm’s renowned founder, Art Gensler, FAIA, will highlight the lecture, themed “Gensler: The Power of Design.” The event—sponsored by the CRS Center for Leadership and Management in the Design and Construction Industry and the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University—is free for Texas A&M University faculty, staff, and students.
