Gehry to Address “Architecture and Perception” at Neuroscience Conference
1999 AIA Gold Medalist Frank Gehry, FAIA, will present the keynote address at the 2006 Society for Neuroscience annual meeting October 14 in Atlanta. As part of their annual series titled "Dialogues Between Neuroscience and Society,” the society reports that Gehry’s talk, titled "Architecture & Perception,” will center on “the ideas and assumptions about how people perceive and interact with architectural spaces that inform his work.” Gehry also will discuss architectural elements—shapes, colors, and textures—for which a more complete scientific understanding of how and why the human brain reacts could help architects to design better buildings and spaces. Gehry’s lecture, from noon until 1 p.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center, is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the Society for Neuroscience Web site.
