New
York Library Presents “Love in Small Change” by Pradeep Dalal,
Assoc. AIA
The
Art Collection at Mid-Manhattan Public Library currently is showing "Love
in Small Change," a photo exhibition by emerging Indian-American
artist Pradeep Dalal, Assoc. AIA. Dalal’s series of autobiographical
works draws on his early adulthood in India and reveals the often
fragmented but potent workings of memory. “For me, single photographs
cannot convey the crammed and lumpy suitcase of remembered emotions
and experiences,” Dalal has said. “The twitching and
jumpiness of the images relate to the memory shards surfacing for
a brief moment only to melt as we try to grasp them.” The exhibition
will run until December 20. Additionally,
an "Artist Dialogue" between Dalal and artist/writer Allen
Frame will take place on October 23. For
more information, visit
the New York Library’s Web site. (And please forgive AIArchitect staff this prideful moment: Dalal in a former incarnation was the
AIA’s director of markets research and a regular contributor
to this publication. You rock, Pradeep!)
