Working. Walking. Water. Why?
Join us in Seattle, September 14–17 to find out

Working: Good design is an investment. Well designed communities can create sustainable patterns of commerce by relying on the local strength and resources to decrease their dependency on economic interests outside of the community.

Walking: Walking is one of the most economical and healthiest means of mobility. Creation of a pedestrian-oriented community allows for the most affordable transportation system any community can plan, design, construct, and maintain.

Water: Vital cities of the future take their form from their relationship to the orientation, supply, and distribution of water. Demand-side management, alternative sewage treatment, wastewater reclamation, and integrated resources planning are key to sustaining this critical resource.

Design professionals, public officials, and others will explore the intersecting spheres of community and environment through design. Come “walk the talk” with us at the Livable Communities: Walking, Working, Water-Connecting Urban and Environmental Issues with Design Opportunities, September 14–17, in Seattle. For more information on the program and registration, visit the conference Web site.
