Practice Management KC Offers Scholarship to National Conference for Young Professionals | ||||
The Practice Management Knowledge Community (PMKC) is offering two scholarships for young professionals to attend the 2006 Practice Management fall conference, “Project Delivery Skills Superconference: New Solutions to Old Problems.” The conference—which takes place September 14–16 in Shreveport, La., in conjunction with AIA Louisiana—aims to provide powerful lessons in delivering successful projects through effective project management, the delivery of quality documents, the employment of practical construction administration strategies, and the proactive management of risks. Ten of the nation’s leading authorities will lead workshops, seminars, and panel discussions dealing with these essential core issues. The scholarship: Two scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship will provide up to $1,800 to cover registration fees, conference cost, and per diem and travel expenses. Each recipient will be required to submit a detailed expense report for reimbursement after attending the conference. Eligibility: Any Architect member or Associate member with six or less years of experience in the profession is eligible to apply for these scholarships. If selected: In return for the scholarship and as a condition of reimbursement, each scholarship recipient will be required to write a 400-word summary of the benefits received from attending the conference. The essays will become the property of the AIA (which may use the essays in any way it might find best), be posted to the PMKC Web page, and be included in the PMKC electronic newsletter.
