We are at a turning point
in our chosen profession.
Architects across America are working in a rapidly changing global marketplace.
The race to stay up with technology and integrate practice with diverse
clients, partners, and project delivery systems stretches our resources.
Our communities need our vision and leadership to promote and preserve
healthy environments. Emerging professionals require our mentoring and
we must help them hone their skills so that they can make meaningful
contributions. Our offices must evolve into better and more inclusive
learning environments in partnership with the academies. The American
Institute of Architects exists to help its members meet these challenges
through collaborative efforts and knowledge sharing.
The Bylaws, Rules of the Board, and Public Policies of the AIA must
be clearly stated and applied to reflect our values. These vehicles act
to direct our members, our boards, and our staff to positively influence
the local, regional, national, and international issues that are important
to us. If elected Secretary of the Institute, I will continue to work
fairly and communicate openly with all members and staff to advance our
profession in service to society.
