FOR FIRST VICE PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT ELECT
Paul Davis Boney, FAIA

Integrity, diplomacy, and balanced judgment. These are my personal touchstones and will define my service as AIA President. As a third generation architect, these values have been an integral part of my life growing up within the culture of the AIA.

As AIA President, my strategies will be to:

  • Strengthen our relationship with AIA components to better serve our members
  • Strengthen our commitment to diversity and emerging professionals
  • Strengthen our emphasis on practice issues that affect firms large and small
  • Enhance the value of architects to clients and society
  • Enhance the knowledge base of the AIA and create the position of Chief Knowledge Officer
  • Enhance the transparency of the organization
  • Increase our emphasis on sustainable design and make it a driving force in society
  • Increase the public awareness of architecture
  • Increase the salary base to stop the talent drain in our profession.

I truly believe that architects should have a great respect for the past but be clearly focused on the future. Through strategic optimism, applied knowledge, and effective advocacy, we will provide our members with the tools necessary to succeed in our ever-changing world. It would be an honor and privilege to serve as your AIA President.
