Stewart, FAIA
The AIA’s core mission is advancing the profession and making
it of ever-increasing value to society. Continuity in strategic planning
has strengthened the AIA’s efforts to advance our Advocacy, Community,
and Knowledge agendas. As a result, the AIA is poised to achieve higher
levels of influence.
Imagine a profession of Citizen Architects, serving society through
their engagement in our towns and cities; Citizen Architects committing
their creativity and knowledge to build healthy and sustainable communities.
Imagine the improved quality of life when people live, work, and play
in livable communities. We can be that profession.
Imagine a profession leading the industry to new ways of constructing
the built environment. A profession that creates new delivery models
to design and build projects more efficiently; projects that are more
sustainable, more economical, and of higher quality. We can become that
profession.
Imagine a profession that attracts and retains the best and brightest
young people, a profession that reflects the rich diversity of the society
it serves. Imagine a profession that nurtures emerging professionals,
supports them with meaningful learning and mentoring experiences. We
should be that profession.
Imagine a profession that continually expands its body of knowledge;
a profession that readily shares its knowledge so that all benefit from
its collective expertise. We will be that profession.
The AIA is ready to achieve new levels of greatness. I need your vote
for AIA president so that together we can build a profession for the
future of our communities.
