AIA Launches ArchiWire Online News Service

The AIA is pleased to announce the launch of ArchiWire, a new central source for architecture firm news. Architects can use ArchiWire to post their firms’ announcements of new and completed projects, awards, staff changes, financial reports, and more—directly on line. If you don’t have a press release, ArchiWire lets you build one through an easy-to-use interface.

This database is open to everyone and allows potential clients, students, academics, vendors, and anyone else interested in e-architecture to monitor the profession’s news. In addition, ArchiWire will serve as a central source for news from the 300 AIA components, offering a one-stop look at the Institute’s member activities around the country.

The press has access as well: Architecture writers can easily monitor this site for specific topics of interest and search for information by project type, budget, date, and location. The media can view postings from the past month or register for access to all postings over the past year. The press and public can search by a variety of criteria and sign up to receive e-mail alerts when news of a particular type is added to the site. They can also store news releases in private folders for later access.

Limited time offer: As a special introductory offer, log on to ArchiWire and post as many news releases as you’d like—free. You can post existing releases using simple cut-and-paste, or build releases automatically with an online form. Later this year, ArchiWire will begin charging a small fee for each release to cover development and maintenance costs. Take advantage of this opportunity to post your firm’s news history and progress.

Help available: For technical help with Archiwire, call Customer Service, 888-491-8833. With other questions, contact AIA Communications Managing Director Terry Poltrack, 202-626-7334.
