Frank is in a play, Mies is in a movie

Wright weekend in Pittsburgh:
The Taliesin Fellows and Taliesin Preservation Inc. will jointly host a private preview performance of WORKSONG, Jeffrey Hatcher’s new play on the life of Frank Lloyd Wright at Pittsburgh’s City Theatre Company on November 19. Ticket sales and all proceeds will be matched by the Save Americas Treasures Grant to prepare the Taliesin Historic Structure Report for the main residence of Wright’s home in Spring Green, Wis. Immediately following the play, attendees are invited to a private home reception to meet the playwright and cast. To round off the weekend in the Wright way, the groups are offering a bus trip to Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob on November 20. For more information, visit the Taliesin Preservation Web site.

Mies film in Chicago:
“Regular or Super—Views on Mies van der Rohe,” the award-winning 2004 Canadian documentary about the work of legendary Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, will have its Chicago premiere on November 30. Presented by the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Mies van der Rohe Society, the film will be followed by a roundtable discussion moderated by Edward Lifson, host of Hello Beautiful!, the Sunday morning arts program on WBEZ Chicago Public Radio, with Stanley Tigerman, FAIA; IIT Dean Gene Summers; and Chicago Reader film and arts contributor Fred Camper.
