The Small Business Administration intends to redefine a small business by the number of employees rather than in terms of yearly gross receipts. Currently, an architecture firm receives the small-business label if its gross receipts are under $4 million on a yearly basis. To be considered a small business under the proposed rule, an architecture firm would be allowed up to 50 employees and no more than $7 million in gross receipts each year. Tell us whether this will adversely affect your business, so that the AIA may better formulate a position in discussions with the Small Business Administration.
