AIA Emerging Professionals
Awards Honor Commitment to Associates and Young Architects 2004 entries due April 2
The National Associates
Committee (NAC) and Young Architects Forum (YAF) are collaborating to
recognize AIA members and affiliates who have shown outstanding commitment
to the professional development of Associate and YAF members. Entries
are due April 2.
The group will present:
The Emerging Professionals Component of the Year Award, the highest
award given by the NAC and the YAF to an AIA component. It recognizes
the development of superb programs and events that advance the goals
of the Associate and YAF membership. These include, but are not limited
to, leadership, professional growth, mentorship, and fellowship.
The Associate AIA Member of the Year Award, the highest award given
by the NAC and the YAF to an individual Associate AIA member. It recognizes
the member who best exemplifies the highest qualities of leadership
and has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to the membership of
his or her component.
The Emerging Professionals Mentorship Award,
given by the NAC and the YAF to an AIA member who has made an extraordinary
effort to promote the advancement of Associate or Young Architect members
in his or her component or region.
The Emerging Professionals Program of the Year
Award, recognizing an outstanding program sponsored by an AIA component
or affiliated group that has most advanced one or more of the missions
of the NAC and/or the YAF.
A jury of AIA architects and chapter leaders will
evaluate applicants’ quality of leadership, as well as the efforts
for advancement of emerging professionals issues. Nominators must submit
completed application forms (provided in the submissions packet). Nominators
also must submit letters of support and further evidence of the character
of the person, chapter, or program being nominated.
The awards will be presented June 10 at the AIA
National Convention during the National Associates Committee reception.
