Enter the 2004 AIA Photo Competition, Sponsored by AIA St. Louis
Slide entries are due March 15

AIA St. Louis once again presents the AIA Photography Competition, open to all architects registered in the U.S., AIA associate members, and AIAS members or student members of any AIA chapter. The top 14 entries will be exhibited at the 2004 AIA National Convention in Chicago, June 10–12. These entries, plus some 40 additional images selected from all submitted will be featured in a 2005 engagement calendar.

Cash prizes will be:

  • First place, $500
  • Second place, $400
  • Third place, $300
  • Louise Bethune Award, $200 (named after the first female American architect, the subject of this award must be located in the U.S.)
  • Digital category, $200.

The entries must have an architectural theme or contain some element of the manmade environment. The jury will use the photographic interpretation of the subject matter as their main criterion for judging, not the architecture itself. Images previously published and/or pending publication or cash-winning images in previous AIA Photography competitions are not eligible.

The entry fee is $15 for AIAS members, $30 for AIA members, and $50 for nonmembers. Entrants may submit up to five slides for each entry fee, and may enter as many times as they like.

Entries are due March 15. Should you decide to enter the contest, please send duplicates, as slides will not be returned. Visit AIA St. Louis’s Web site to download an entry form. Questions? Contact AIA St. Louis by e-mail or phone, 314-621-3484.
