Design for Aging Review Seeks Projects for 2004 Publication

The AIA’s Design for Aging Center and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA), through its Quality First initiative, invite architects, designers, and providers to submit projects for consideration in Design for Aging: 2004 Review. Entry forms and fees are due August 15; completed submissions are due August 29.

The Review, which showcases exemplary, conscientious design of senior-living facilities, comprises a juried exhibition, a book, and education programs. New, renovated, or combination project entries may be submitted in two main categories:
• Continuing care retirement communities
• Stand-alone facilities
Three subcategories, new to this cycle of the review, also will be considered:
• Special feature solutions or details
• Research projects
• Sustainable building solutions.

Winning projects will be displayed at the AIA national convention (June 10–12, 2004, in Chicago) and the AAHSA Annual Meeting (October 25–28, 2004, in Nashville).

The Call for Entries and entry forms will be available July 18 on the AIA’s Web site. Send questions to designforaging@aia.org.
