The
2003 College of Fellows Executive Committee bade adieu December 5 to 2002
Chancellor C. James Lawler, FAIA, and welcomed 2003 Chancellor Sylvester
Damianos, FAIA, at the annual College of Fellows Inaugural. At its meeting
the following day, the COF Executive Committee selected five recipients
of the AIA Young Architects Award, the results of which will be announced
January 20. Lawler got other good news that day when the AIA Board of
Directors elected him the 2003 recipient of the Edward C. Kemper Award
for his contributions to the Institute and the profession. Damianos received
the Kemper Award in 1996. Both men also served as president of the AIA,
Damianos in 1990 and Lawler in 1991.
