Damianos Takes Office as COF Chancellor

Dougherty, FAIA; and Bursar Ted P. Pappas, FAIA.The 2003 College of Fellows Executive Committee bade adieu December 5 to 2002 Chancellor C. James Lawler, FAIA, and welcomed 2003 Chancellor Sylvester Damianos, FAIA, at the annual College of Fellows Inaugural. At its meeting the following day, the COF Executive Committee selected five recipients of the AIA Young Architects Award, the results of which will be announced January 20. Lawler got other good news that day when the AIA Board of Directors elected him the 2003 recipient of the Edward C. Kemper Award for his contributions to the Institute and the profession. Damianos received the Kemper Award in 1996. Both men also served as president of the AIA, Damianos in 1990 and Lawler in 1991.
