Young Architects Forum
Calling Young Architect Leaders!

The National Young Architects Forum (YAF) Advisory Committee has been completely restructured and seeks up to six new members for 2003. Due to the success and visibility of past national YAF programs, conferences, and competitions, the committee, which formerly consisted of four funded positions, has been increased to seven.

Positions open for 2003 are:
• Vice Chair
• Communications Advisor
• Programs Advisor
• Events Advisor
• Public Relations Advisor
• Special Assignments Advisor.

Interested young architects—those licensed less than 10 years—should submit:
• An applicant letter describing the particular position or positions of interest and stating whether a one- or two-year term is preferred
• Up to five pages of backup materials
• Three letters of recommendation.

The assignment of specific advisory-member roles is at the discretion of the current advisory committee.

Descriptions of open positions and additional submittal details are available on the AIA Web site under the heading "Restructured YAF AdCom seeks new members in 2003." Applications for open positions should be postmarked by 5 p.m. EST, November 30, and mailed to: Ellen Cathey, Assoc. AIA, The American Institute of Architects, 1735 New York Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20006-5292. Email questions to YAF Advisory Committee Chair Karin Pitman.
