"Why the Towers Fell" DVD Available

The AIA Audiovisual Collection now has the NOVA public-television investigation into the collapse of the World Trade Center on DVD. Following a team of forensic engineers from Ground Zero to scrap-steel yards, beginning mid-September 2001, the NOVA reporters documented one of the most massive, difficult, and detailed building-failure investigations in history. Included in the 60-minute DVD are interviews with survivors and rescue personnel, links to special Web features, and the Federal Emergency Management Administration report on the disaster. The program is also available in VHS.

A two-week rental of the DVD or VHS (and any of the videotapes in the AIA collection) costs $25 for AIA members ($35 for nonmembers) plus a $5.00 shipping and handling fee.

The Audiovisual Collection features a variety of slides, videos, and CDs that can be used for training, research, or adding visual interest to presentations. The slide collection alone contains more than 90,000 illustrations of buildings of every type. The collection includes presentations and panel discussions from AIA conventions captured on video and films produced by both the AIA and independent producers.
