THIS JUST IN FROM THE EXPO FLOOR
Book 'em, Jim!

Jim Leggitt, AIA, a senior associate with RNL Design, Denver, talks with his publisher Margaret Cummins of John Wiley & Sons, New York City, during a Thursday, May 9, afternoon book signing in the AIA Bookstore on the expo floor. Leggitt, an architect, urban planner, and professional illustrator, is the author of Drawing Shortcuts: Developing Quick Drawing Skills Using Today's Technology. The book is a series of shortcuts and design tips that "are the ones I use, and I've put them in this book for the benefit of art students, design professionals, and anyone else who needs to be able to communicate creative ideas through drawings and graphics in a fast-paced modern world," Leggitt explains. The president of AIA Denver, Leggitt also teaches a drawings shortcuts course to graduate students at the University of Colorado College of Architecture and Planning. "I took my first drawing lesson at age five watching the television show, "Learn to Draw," hosted by Jon Gnagy." Leggitt's popular drawing workshops and AIA-sponsored programs are held throughout the country. Also pictured (right) is Jeffery Yentz, AIA, of Centra Health, Lynchburg, Va.
