Leggitt, AIA, a senior associate with RNL Design, Denver, talks with his
publisher Margaret Cummins of John Wiley & Sons, New York City, during
a Thursday, May 9, afternoon book signing in the AIA Bookstore on the
expo floor. Leggitt, an architect, urban planner, and professional illustrator,
is the author of Drawing Shortcuts: Developing
Quick Drawing Skills Using Today's Technology. The book is a series
of shortcuts and design tips that "are the ones I use, and I've put
them in this book for the benefit of art students, design professionals,
and anyone else who needs to be able to communicate creative ideas through
drawings and graphics in a fast-paced modern world," Leggitt explains.
The president of AIA Denver, Leggitt also teaches a drawings shortcuts
course to graduate students at the University of Colorado College of Architecture
and Planning. "I took my first drawing lesson at age five watching
the television show, "Learn to Draw," hosted by Jon Gnagy."
Leggitt's popular drawing workshops and AIA-sponsored programs are held
throughout the country. Also pictured (right) is Jeffery Yentz, AIA, of
