Minnesota's Honor Award Winners

AIA Minnesota's Honor Awards program has recognized a "lively mix" of projects. They are featured in several issues of Architecture Minnesota, the chapter's magazine. The magazine publication dates follow the firms and award-winning projects, which are listed below. They are in Minneapolis unless otherwise noted.

• Minneapolis Rowing Club Boathouse, by Vincent James Associates Inc. The project was inspired by the arc of oars in the water. Photo above by Mary Ludington, Andrew Dull. (Mar/Apr 2002)

• Pusan Exhibition and Convention Center, Pusan, South Korea, by The Leonard Parker Associates Architects, is South Korea's first convention center. Photo 1 by Myunghwan Cho and JungSik Moon. (Nov/Dec 2001)

• F.A.I.R. Arts Middle School, Crystal, Minn., by Hammel Green and Abrahamson, Inc., creates a lively learning environment with whimsical forms. (Mar/Apr 2002)

• Tofte Cabin,Tofte, Minn., by Sarah Nettleton Architects, employs the tenets of sustainable design. Photo 5 by Peter Kurze. (Mar/Apr 2001)

• Riley Hayes Advertising, by The Leonard Parker Associates Architects. In the early 20th century, the building served as a train-engine repair house. (Sept/Oct 2001)

• Service Garage Transformation, by Y + A Architects. Now this edifice is even sweeter than when it was a candy factory. (Mar/Apr 2002).
