"Security by Design: Insights and Best Practices,"
a 90-minute virtual seminar addressing security design from the architect's
viewpoint, was offered Monday, November 5, from 12:30 p.m., EST.,
at 300 sites nationwide. The program was made possible through the generous
support of Autodesk.
The architect's viewpoint
The program featured a number of security design experts, including:

Washington, D.C.
Robert Craig, CPP, manager, security division, Rolf Jensen &

Denis Goeser, AIA, project manager, Leo A. Daly, Omaha
Michael Patrick, AIA, director, architectural design, Leo A. Daly,
Atlanta.
Participants received information on how to:
Recognize the nature of security threats to the built environment
and the relative risks associated with those threats
Assess the owner/client perspectives and concerns regarding security
threats to their buildings
Develop strategies and methods to plan, design, and construct buildings
to mitigate or minimize security threats
Integrate knowledge and information concerning security threats
into the design of buildings now on the boards
Advise clients about security threats and the integration of security
concerns throughout the building life cycle.
