A Message to Our Members from Norman L. Koonce, FAIA
AIA Executive Vice President

Dear Colleague:

Please take a moment to review the important attached letter from AIA President John D. Anderson, FAIA.

In the days following the terrible events in New York, AIA members everywhere have asked how they can support their colleagues and fellow citizens. This is your opportunity to show your support through the World Trade Center Memorial Fund.

With the full cooperation of the AIA New York Chapter, AIA New York State, the Regional Directors, AIA Vice President Barbara Nadel, FAIA, and the national component, this special fund has been organized to accept contributions to help architects and others affected by the recent terrorist attacks on New York. We have carefully reviewed and can fully support both the organization and intent of the fund.

President Anderson’s appeal for support is being distributed via e-mail to AIA component executives, presidents, and presidents-elect. The letter is also on the AIA’s Web site. You can further the good work of the World Trade Center Memorial Fund not only by contributing, but also by circulating John’s letter to your members and others who may be without e-mail to ensure that information about this fund is available to everyone within the architecture community eager to extend a helping hand.

I urge you to respond quickly and generously.
